The mission of the Johnson County Young Democrats (JCYD) is to empower and mobilize Young Democrats within Johnson County, fostering a dynamic community dedicated to progressive values, civic engagement, and inclusive leadership. We aim to amplify the voices of Young Democrats, advocate for equitable policies, and cultivate a diverse and vibrant political landscape that reflects the values and aspirations of our generation.
Advocating for Young Democrats: By Providing education, mentorship, and guidance to Young Democrats looking to engage the political system.

JJ (he/him) serves as the Co-Chair of Johnson County Young Democrats. He is a current graduate student at New York University. He has previously interned at the Office of Representative Sharice Davids. JJ is dedicated to equipping young Dems with the skills needed to empower their voices in Johnson County!
Reed (he/him) serves as the Co-Chair of Johnson County Young Democrats and is the 3rd Congressional District Chair for the Kansas Young Democrats. He is a current graduate student at the University of Kansas. Reed is passionate about getting young people involved in local politics and keeping Johnson County Blue!
Johnny Honnold (he/him) is currently a junior at Pembroke Hill School from Mission Hills, Kansas with a deep interest in public policy and our criminal justice system. In the past, Johnny has served as an intern at the Midwest Innocence Project, as a pathe Kansas Legislature, and as a United States Senate Page. He is so excited to see our Johnson County Young Democrats chapter get back off of the ground and become a voice for change
Evan (he/him) serves as Treasurer for the Johnson County Young Democrats, where he spearheads fundraising initiatives to support young Democrats. He also leads organizing efforts in Sedgwick and Wyandotte counties and heads the statewide voter registration program, focusing on informing Kansans with felonies of their right to vote. He brings extensive campaign experience, including roles with the 2020 Pete Buttigieg for President campaign. A Kansas native, Evan is dedicated to advocating for marginalized communities. Outside of activism, he enjoys traveling, and jazz music.
Kat (she/her) is a Texas native proud to call Kansas her forever home. Kat serves as the Vice-President of Membership for Johnson County Democratic Women South chapter and the state Membership Chair for the Kansas Federation of Democratic Women. A recent KU graduate, she received her BGS in Political Science and Communications with Honors, specializing in strategic digital political communication. Her work centers around the digital communication patterns that shape public policy debate in the US. She is excited to bring her skills and experience to help the Johnson County Young Democrats thrive in a post-COVID world.
Pablo (he/him) is originally from Kansas City, Kansas. Currently, they are attending the University of Notre Dame pursuing majors in Political Science and Sociology with minors in History and Gender Studies. In the past, he has worked with Notre Dame’s chapter of college Democrats and on advocacy groups fighting for the needs of LGBT+ and POC communities within the state of Indiana and his school community. He is excited to be working with the Johnson County Young Democrats in order to help progressive policies and leaders in the state of Kansas.
